Many school administrators and parents believe that uniforms create a better learning environment at school. First and foremost, students are not as distracted by how they look, and therefore, spend more time learning at school. The peer pressures of stylish dressing with the “best” brands are alleviated, especially when students may not wear any uniform pieces from name brand companies. This allows students to focus more on their schoolwork, rather than social appearances.  Furthermore,  the socioeconomic differences present among students are minimized when all students must wear the same school uniforms, no longer feeling the pressure to “fit in” with the right clothing choices.

A uniform is required for Monday to Thursday at ACA. Fridays are designated as casual dress days.

The uniform requirements at ACA are as follows:


  1. Navy, Black or Khaki cotton solid coloured pants. Dress pants are acceptable. (no sweats, leggings or markings and stripes)                    These can be purchased at a store of your choice.
  2. Girls may choose to wear a skirt or jumper of the same colours.  It must be to the knee in length. 


  1. These must be ordered from our current uniform supplier as listed below. Navy t- shirts, or long sleeve shirt.  Navy hoodies or zipper sweaters are also available.  These will come printed with the school emblem. 

Gym Uniform:


  1. Navy or black athletic. (No leggings)  Shorts must come to the knee. Purchased at a store of your choice.


Grey t-shirt available from uniform supplier. Available in moisture wicking option for the boys.

  1. Shoes must have non-marking soles. Sandals must have a strap around the back of the foot. (no flip flops)

Running shoes must be worn for Gym. 

Casual Dress: 

  1. No tight or revealing clothing (please be conservative in necklines and in the fit of the jeans) 
  2. T-shirts with logos should not have any questionable or offensive content.
  3. No tank tops, spaghetti straps or tops that expose the midriff.
  4. No pyjama pants or shorts above knee length.


  1. Boys in Grade 9-12 may have facial hair if it is kept trimmed and tidy
  2. Girls in Grade K-6 should not be wearing make-up. Girls in Grade 7-12 may wear light discreet make-up.
  3. No black coloured nail polish should be worn in any grade. All other colours will be left to parent discretion.
  4. Watches, rings, and necklaces may be worn as long as they are approved by the student’s parents. 
  5. Stud earrings may be worn by girls, with parental approval.
  6. Body piercing and tattoos are discouraged.
